The cause of anatomical and physiological changes in eyelids is related to environmental, genetic and emotional factors. Among facial lines and folds (Langer lines), some are directly caused by ageing, some are gravitational lines caused by flexion and extension and others are dynamic lines resulting from repeated skin tensions of facial muscles.
Appear around the age of 40 and increase due to gravity effect when the skin loses tone
Appear around the age of 20 due to eyelid muscle contractions. They are commonly known as crow’s feet or smiling lines
BLEPHAROPLASTY
SURGERY
Surgery is performed with local anaesthetic through small incisions that will heal very fast since the eyelids skin is one of the fastest healing areas of the human body.
This type of surgery removes excess fat and skin from the eyelids which rejuvenates the eyes and helps patients recover peripheral vision that can be reduced by sagging skin and droopy eyelids.
In many cases excess skin in upper eyelids might limit our field of vision by partially covering our visual axis
Correction of swollen lower eyelids that make your eyes look tired. Removal of excess skin and gravitational lines in upper eyelids.
Blepharoplasty can be combined with other treatments to achieve the best possible outcomes which in many cases improves the patient’s self-esteem.

Surgery to remove saggy skin does not imply any limitations to daily activities. However, the usual bruising and swelling around the area where surgery was performed makes recommendable the use of sunglasses and many patients choose to rest at home for a few days.
No. Although the eyeball is close to the surgery area, the procedure does not affect it at all. It is necessary to have an accurate, in-depth knowledge of the periocular area to carry out this procedure with absolute safety.
The eyeball is not involved in the procedure at all. However, some patients experience vision improvement since excessively “saggy” upper eyelids may interfere with your peripheral vision or limit your field of vision. That’s why many patients experience a “clearer vision” after surgery.
It certainly can. Blepharoplasty removes excess skin but does not correct other conditions associated with it. Our oculoplasty specialists will study your case and offer the most comprehensive solution which in some cases might include combined treatment to achieve the best possible results.
