Doctor Rahhal has always pioneered eye surgery in Spain.
Born in Ein Karem, a few miles from Jerusalem, he received a degree in medicine and surgery from the University of Valencia, and finished his doctoral thesis with distinction Cum Laude under the supervision of professor J.J. Barcia Goyanes. Later on Doctor Rahhal specialised in ophthalmology at the department led by professor Carreras.
Upon founding his ophthalmology clinic in 1977 Dr. Rahhal assembled a team of highly qualified professionals and with their full support became a pioneer in the introduction of innovating procedures.
In the early 1990’s, Dr. Rahhal was among the first five ophthalmologists in the world that implanted intraocular lenses to correct refractive errors such as myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism.
In 1991 he had already changed the approach of ophthalmology in Spain by introducing Excimer Laser technology in the correction of refractive errors.
Another great success came in 1998, when he became the first Spanish ophthalmologist to correct eye strain.
Rahhal’s clinic also pioneered the application of vitreolysis to correct myodesopsia (commonly known as “eye floaters”) in Europe.
His successful career and multiple achievements have made Dr. Rahhal a world reference in the field of ophthalmology. Such achievements have largely contributed to his professional prestige. Dr. Rahhal’s prominence has always been associated with his pioneering spirit and innovative approach which are widely recognised by his fellow colleagues.
Dr. Rahhal continues his research on new methods, and works in close collaboration with his medical team in the treatment of patients in his clinic located on 52 Cirilo Amoros St. in Valencia (Spain).
